New Pattern: Vibrations - A modern throw-sized quilt
Hey cool people! I just wanted to pop in today to let you know that my latest pattern, Vibrations, is now available on magazine stands in the Winter 2015 edition of Modern Quilts Unlimited. The blocks are 12" modified log cabins. Those tiny strips finish at 1/4", but the pressing instructions make all of the seams nest and perfect piecing a breeze.
Like the last quilt I made for MQU, I used Kaffe Fassett shot cottons & Pellon Nature's Touch batting. I quilted it with a stencil pattern, that I talked about in depth here.
I'm so utterly predictable with my emphasis on structure, line, and manly blocks. I'd apologize about that, but meh...I'm not sorry :) Of course, this quilt is purple. Ergo, not so manly in my husband's book.
But, if you were so inclined, it does lend itself very well to a manlier look:
Super subtle/similar colors work nicely, also:
And lately I'm obsessed with vintage yellow:
What colors would you use?
