Modern Bee: String Circles
Today I wanted to share with you a quilt I contributed to!
Over a year ago, my friend Lindsay of Lindsay Sews asked the Indy Modern Quilt Guild for some volunteers to sew some blocks for a "secret" project. We were supposed to sew a string circle with a freezer paper method, and then inset it into a white background. I was too chicken to do the inset circle, so I just sent Lindsay this string creation:
And she inset sewed (is that even a term?) it into a white background for me, and poof! It's in this beautiful quilt now!
I'm pretty confident I could tackle an inset circle now that I've got so many curves under my belt! My block is the middle one in the bottom row.
This book is totally gorgeous! I hope to do a review of it soon, but you can find it at Amazon, local bookstores, and lots of quilt shops. Go Lindsay, go! I'm so honored to be a (very small) part of this awesome project! You can learn more about her book at her Modern Bee website or hit up all the links on the blog hop - still going on!
