Courthouse steps quilt: All done!! :D

I'm excited to have this finished!! My "scrap"quilt - and I say that with a wink, because really, I don't have enough scraps to make a whole quilt. I made three blocks out of scraps, as part of Randi's sew along. Her directions were for mini-quilts, but honestly, I don't know what to do with mini quilts - so I kept going! As in, I kept going back to the store and buying more fabric (well, to be fair, there are several other blocks where one of the fabrics was from my scrap stash!).

But true to my style, only 1/8 yard at a time (I never buy extra) - not to mention, 1/8 yard really IS like a scrap!! I kept my colors balanced out by  having four solids of each of the following colors:
blue, pink, purple, and green.

I finished by quilting in "straight" lines (ok, they aren't all THAT straight!) at random intervals.

The binding is a polka dot by Kaffe Fassett. I used the binding tutorial by Rachel at StitchedinColor.

It was a new experience - I've never completed all the steps of binding by machine!
Well, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and she's all freshly crinkled from the wash and ready to be handed off to her new owner :)
And I'm linking up to the very last (at least for awhile) Finish it up Friday - head on over to look at all the other great blogs! Also linked up to a new linky party, Finally Friday. Add yours, too!
