Feather Quiltalong Announcement
Alright folks, here's the deal: I took Angela Walter's Craftsy course on feathers, and now I'm addicted. I never understood why she loved them so much until I started quilting them!! As pretty as they look, I think they're even more enjoyable to quilt. I had tried to quilt feathers a number of times before, with some pretty horrible looking results, until I took her class. Soooo, I'd like to encourage you all to take her class and quilt along with me for the next few weeks!
I'll be quilting a king-sized quilt with feathers and matchstick quilting, much like I did on my Dyed quilt. I'll be making a wholecloth quilt with Carolyn Friedlander's 108" Widescreen Crosshatch in white. I'm pumped. And worried that this will be a little crazy. Onwards into the insanity!!!
So, quilt with me; it'll be so much fun! I'll be sharing my project progress, encouraging you to focus on the lessons in her class that I found the most helpful, and will also provide tutorials with other techniques I've learned since then.
In order to follow along, you'll need to purchase Angela's Free-Motion Quilting with Feathers Craftsy course (affiliate link, fyi!*), read along here at 13 Spools, and practice your heart out :). Share your progress on Instagram labeled with #featherQAL, on your blog, Flickr account, whatever! I'll be sharing some of the progress photos here from time to time. Then, link up a photo or blog post of any project you quilted with feathers during the course of the quiltalong. You'll be eligible to win some prizes, which I'll be revealing later this week!
Are you with me???
