Dyed: A Finished Quilt
Finalllllly done with this quilt! I spent forever and a day quilting this bad boy, but I think it's well worth it. This will be quite the photo dump of a post :)
As you saw in the sneak peek, I quilted feathers vertically throughout the red fabrics. I matchstick quilted between the feathers.
I think the feathers add a lot to this design! As my friend pointed out, it provides a nice contrast to the angular piecing.
I know now why Angela Walters is addicted to feathers. They are sooo enjoyable to quilt. This isn't the best photo, but it shows you the overall quilting:
I learned how to quilt feathers from her Craftsy course.
I bound it in a Parson Gray fabric that mirrors both the masculinity of the quilt and the elegant nature of the quilting.
I had tons of fun quilting the white...
...but I got better photos of that in my previous posts (Graffiti Quilting: Motifs here, Quilting Away here), so I won't bore you with more.
One of the things I love about this quilt is that it looks great "in action":
Whew. Now I just need to decide what to do with it.
