Blogger's Quilt Festival: Flocks & Blocks
Hi there! Welcome to any visitors from the Blogger's Quilt Festival. My name is Amy Garro, and I'm a stay at home mom of 3 boys under 3. My husband watches the kids from time to time so I can indulge my quilting addiction ;)
For my second entry into this year's Blogger's Quilt Festival, I'm entering my Flocks and Blocks quilt.
This is quilt was made with the help of my do. Good Stitches circle. I asked them to make blocks in green, blue, and aqua using my Flock of HSTs tutorial. I made all the black/gray blocks, then whipped everything up into this finished quilt.
The simple cross hatch quilting worked out beautifully and allowed the quilt enough space to crinkle up nicely.
I used Pellon's Nature's Touch batting, one of my new go-tos. It's really thick and gives great loft.
I used a fun texty print for the binding...
...and some fun birds for the back :) But not geese. After all, these are actually HSTs, not geese!
This quilt is 48" x 63" and will hopefully make a child somewhere very happy!
Thanks so much for visiting, and many thanks to Amy for holding the festival. If you feel so inclined, check out the different tabs at the top of my page to learn more about me and to see some more of my quilt projects :) My other BQF entry, Mod Blocks, can be found here.
