Modern Bee: Mosaic Tiles QAL project
So we've all been going through rounds of sickness over here, but while I was on the mend (and just before my husband started getting sick), I did manage to squeeze off my promised contribution for my friend Lindsay's QAL!
She's hosting a quiltalong for the quilt "Mosaic Tiles" from her newly released book, Modern Bee.
I made up a quick and fun pillow using a small portion of the quilt pattern. You can buy the book and then follow along with my tutorial here to make your own version!
Lindsay's book has tons of useful tips for anyone in a bee, or who might want to start a bee. Like, apparently you should send these nice little notes with your blocks. I've just been considering myself good if I managed to get the blocks out of the door, but ever since I've upgraded to a quilter in my do. Good stitches circle, man - I must say those little notes are lovely to receive!
But even if you aren't in a bee, there are still 13 quilt patterns in here that are beautiful and can be made easily on your own! They are arranged by difficulty level, so you can work through the book as a skill builder, or choose the difficulty level you feel like tackling at the moment. Lindsay's curvy quilt is just tempting me!
The photography in the book, as in any Stash book, is simply beautiful. And what would a Stash book be without some quilting by Angela Walters?
I hope you stop by to take a look at the details for the Mosaic Tiles quiltalong - Lindsay always manages to organize the best prizes!!
