Fabric purchases + project progress
My lovely mother visited me last week and we had tons of fun hitting up the quilt shops! We chose some adorable fabric for my upcoming arrival (you know...a baby). She's going to make him or her a Noah's Ark quilt with some neutral fabrics that go well with the nursery (currently painted green). Aside from that, we both got some fabric just for fun. I chose this short fat quarter stack of Bella:
And these two quarter yard cuts of chairs:
That red is intense! Larger than my usual choice of 1/8 yard cuts, but with the scale of the chairs and my desire to fussy cut, I thought a 1/4 cut was a safer choice.
Now tell me....
What would you do with these? (I'm not thinking of mixing them, so ideas for either or both.) They aren't my usual style, but I like them a lot, which means I don't quite know how to use them! I pulled out my 99 Modern Blocks book for some inspiration, but if any of you have any ideas, I'd love to hear!
Aside from that, I've been chugging along on the Groove quilt. With all those curves, I'm glad that we have until the end of October for this guy!! If you remember, my pieced curves turned out alright - but the edges of the blocks were slightly wonky. Luckily I was able to hide all that wonkiness entirely in the seam allowance and I'm really pleased with how they are turning out.
Hope you all are doing wonderfully and please, tell me any thoughts you have for the Bella and/or the chairs :)
