Fire & Ice in prints and something just for fun :)
I made a little store sample for Crimson Tate of the Fire & Ice pattern in some cute/fun prints:
It was sooo much fun to do and now I want to go buy all of these fabrics to make an entire quilt like this! I really like that it's a cuddly version of this pattern. I want to snuggle under it. And, I have no fear in my heart about being able to wash it! (That original Fire & Ice quilt has a lot of reds, and I do not prewash!!)
I used an embroidered white for the binding, which I thought was really fun and gave the light-hearted summery feel I was going for. I seriously want to make a sundress out of this fabric!
I quilted it with an all-over flower & leaves pattern that I found in a continuous-line quilting book I have. It was a lot of fun to do, especially now that I have a little bit more quilting experience under my belt.
I'll be headed to Crimson Tate sometime this week to drop off this sample (all these fabrics are available there), as well as the original Fire & Ice quilt to draw some attention for the release of the pattern. Yay!
And just for some fun:
A paper piecing pattern I whipped up. I'm loving electric blue this year! Unfortunately I need to figure out a better way to have a lot of seams meeting together - there is a HUGE bump in the center of this block. I'm not sure how quilt-able it is....aw well. It was fun, and I'll tweak it!
