Liebster Award

Hi all! For starters, let me say I'm a bit annoyed because random strangers who I don't know can be really nasty on Facebook. What is about the internet that makes people think they can be as mean as they want? People wouldn't say stuff like that in real life to complete strangers. For that matter, I had to stop looking at thebump.com boards while I was pregnant because people were just way too mean (even the non-pregnant ones - no excuse ladies!!) and I was feeling really sorry for all the original posters. And then if someone pointed it out, everyone jumped on them and was all "what are you, my mom?". Wow. Like that makes you mature. Apparently the internet is an outlet for inner bullies or something. Ah man. I wish people could just be civil and if they felt the need to disagree, have an actual constructive dialogue.

Anyway. Rant over.

In other news...

I won the Liebster award - twice! (Ok, now I feel a little silly at how unrelated this all is, but I really needed to get that out!). I feel so honored :) I'm getting really great feedback on the fire + ice quilt and am really excited about it. I'm planning on entering it into the QuiltCon next year and hope to get in to one of their juried shows. I'm hoping the judges like it as much as the bloggers who gave me the award!

The Liebster award is awarded to favorite blogs with 200 followers or less. In this case, I was awarded it twice in two days - by Jill and Celtic Thistle - check out their crafty blogs!

Once you awarded the Liebster, you must:

1. Thank your award presenter on your blog and link back to him/her.
2. Copy and paste the award to your blog.
3. Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that you think deserve to be recognized.
4. Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
5. Have faith that your followers will spread the love too!

Unfortunately, I don't seem to follow many blogs with fewer than 200 followers! I have four to give the award out to today, but I promise I'll try to award another six as I find more lovely blogs to follow :)

Crafting...  - love her projects and colors!
Fabrics and Fun - Martha posts all sorts of stuff here: how to make cute little girl clothes out of your old tank tops or fabric scraps, recipes, and fun info about saints and seasons
Gemini Stitches - my current favorite is her Ruby Sparkles quilt, and she has a great header
My Domestic Monastery - extremely deep theological musings on raising a toddler

Also swing by and take a look at Marjorie's blog - she hand quilts and quickly (unlike me)! I won't officially award her this, since she's gotten it a number of times already - but unofficially, you bet!

A final note - I finished piecing the fire + ice quilt today!! But no time for pictures today. Soon!
